abstract = {This paper deals with problems of implementation of the automatic notification system which is used for creating and automatic sending of notifications to the information system users. Notification system was developed as an independent modul which can be simply integrated with any information system. It can be used in situations where users of the system need some kind of notification as a result of a system response to certain types of events. The integration of the notification system with medical information system MEDIS.NET is given as an illustration of implemented module integration. MEDIS.NET was developed in Laboratory for Medical Informatics at Electronic Faculty of Engineering in Nis and it is used in 20 health centers in Republic of Serbia. All applicabilities of the implemented notification system are described. © 2012 IEEE.},
