abstract = {A large amount of data collected using certain medical information system, among other things, can be used for training health professionals and students of medical sciences. This paper presents possible usage of medical information system MEDIS.NET for increasing professional knowledge of medical workers and students. Education is accomplished by using the results obtained by interactive tools for generating statistical reports (ReportER) and BI tools. At the end of this paper there is a suggestion for developing a central repository and collaboration platform for rare diseases in order to gain knowledge about these diseases, their diagnosis and treatment. © 2011 IEEE.},
